This adorable Yorkie is Alanis. She is approx 8 years old and is one sweet girl!! Alanis had a very tough life before she came to Minnesota and is still learning what it means to be loved and cared for. She is still pretty timid around people, but loves other dogs. She is one curious gal! She loves to wander around the house and sniff everything out, but she also loves curling up on the couch for a nap.

Alanis is crate trained and sleeps in her crate at night. She does a great job in there! Alanis has made a lot of improvement in the potty-training department. She's learning to go outside and has very few accidents now. She's getting used to a leash too. She's great in the car as well.

Alanis is shy around people and will need a patient, loving family. She has been around older kids, but I think she would do well with any age as long as the child is able to give her space if she needs it. When Alanis becomes afraid, she hides from people and shakes but she does not become aggressive. She's going to be an absolutely loving and snuggly pet when she gets comfortable.

Alanis loves pacing the house and checking it all out. However, she's probably most happy relaxing on the couch. She also LOVES eating! She would do best with a family that can give her guidance, love, patience, and isn't too active. She's slowly learning how fun treats are and is starting to pay attention to toys. She is an absolute sweetheart and will continue to feel more at ease as she settles in to her new life.
