Meet Lela (“Squeak”) — a tiny 12-pound Dachshund mix (best guess) with the energy of a rocket and opinions to match. She’s a sweet cuddle-bug at night, but during the day she’s fearless, goofy, and bursting with high-octane enthusiasm, preferring a rough-and-tumble play style that can overwhelm gentler pups. She does best with older kids and dog-savvy canine friends who enjoy hard play, but she’s not a fit for homes with cats or small animals. Lela is about 50% potty trained, with recall that’s entirely on her terms, and she’s a world-class escape artist who will door-dash, dig, or squeeze through gaps in search of adventure. If she’s under-exercised or bored, she’ll put her creativity to work chewing furniture, tearing carpet, or “redecorating” the yard — and she’s also a confirmed poop connoisseur, so quick yard cleanup is a must. This spirited little dynamo needs a very active home with multiple daily exercise sessions, mental enrichment like training or puzzle games, secure fencing, and vigilant supervision at doors and outdoors. With consistent training, structure, and plenty to do, Lela transforms into a hilarious, affectionate shadow who will curl up with you at night and keep you laughing all day.

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  $650.00
