Petuka is a tiny 3 year old terrier mix from Mexico. She has white and tan wiry fur with adorable tan ears that frame her tiny face. She has big brown eyes that she uses to study everything. When she first came into rescue, she was very scared and shut down. But over time, she has blossomed and shown us her personality. She is loyal and will follow "her person" around all day and then snuggle that person in bed all night. She will happily sleep in her kennel, but she prefers a human's bed to sleep in. She is shy when meeting new people and can sometimes bark at them, but quickly comes out of her shell. She loves playing with dogs she has gotten to know but can be suspicious of new ones. Once she gets to know them, she loves a good play session. She loves going on long walks. Petuka lives with three kids ages 8-12 and does great with them but she is scared of smaller kids and toddlers. Her favorite thing to do is lay in the sun and get belly rubs. She does well in the car, often sleeping through 3+ hour trips to the cabin, and is nearly potty trained.  When she goes outside on a schedule, she does not have accidents. Petuka is a special girl who has come so far and is excited to find her own forever family to love.
