Meet Callie Sue, a Cavalier King Charles born approx 8/3/19. Callie is a sweet, mild-mannered foster pup with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. She’s mostly house-trained, doing best when taken outside every 1–3 hours. While she’s had a few pee accidents (we’re working on it!), she hasn’t had a single poo accident—a solid start! She thrives with attentive supervision and is learning quickly. Callie stays in a kennel only when we leave the house for short outings. She goes in willingly and seems comfortable, although she’ll bark a bit when you leave to let you know she’s not thrilled. By the time you return, though, she’s sound asleep and greets you with a wagging tail and happy heart. She hasn’t had any accidents in her kennel, though she has managed to spill her water dish a few times—maybe as a form of protest!

At night, she prefers the cool floor over beds or furniture, even though she’s welcome to snuggle wherever she pleases. Callie is wonderful with all the people she’s met so far, though she hasn’t been tested with children yet. She’s very interested in cats (maybe a little too much!) but she hasn’t shown any aggression, just lots of barking and curiosity. We’re working on helping her understand how to interact calmly with them. We haven’t tested her with other dogs yet, but she’s shown great potential overall.

Callie walks beautifully on a leash and usually has a somewhat reliable recall. She loves car rides and will hop right in, ready for the adventure. Her energy level is mostly low (she’s a bit of a couch potato), but she does have her silly, excited bursts, especially when she’s asking for belly rubs. Her least favorite things include robot vacuums, ear cleanings, and nail trims, but she tolerates them as needed.

Callie’s favorite hobbies are napping, watching the cats like a little detective, and following her people around the house like the most devoted shadow. She’s affectionate, goofy in the best way, and quietly working on becoming the perfect companion for a patient and loving forever home

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $475.00
