Meet Nate! Nate is a handsome young lab mix, born around August 2024, with the sweetest eyes and a heart that is so ready for a second chance. This boy made the long journey from Arkansas after finding himself sitting on death row in a shelter. Thankfully, his story didn’t end there — and now he’s looking for the forever family he truly deserves.

 

Nate is on the skinny side right now and is working on gaining some healthy weight. He also had some skin issues that are healing nicely, so his coat may look a little patchy as his new fur grows in. Think of it as his “before” phase — because his glow-up is already in progress.

 

He walks amazing on a leash and truly enjoys getting out for strolls. He rides well in the car, making him a great buddy for road trips, errands, or weekend adventures. He is potty trained, does great in a kennel, and has wonderful house manners. Nate is good with dogs and kids, and he has been around small dogs and even a rabbit without any issues. He met a cat, sniffed it and continued on and didn't react when it ran past him.

 

When meeting new people, Nate can be a little nervous at first — but give him a minute (and maybe a treat or two), and you’ll see his tail start wagging. He warms up quickly and bonds closely with his people. Once he trusts you, he is all in.

 

Nate would absolutely love a home with a yard where he can stretch his legs and show off his zoomies. He has that classic lab joy just waiting to burst out, and having space to run would make him so happy.
